Ziggo Dome

Compass took care of the detailed engineering and implementation of the electrical installation in the Ziggo Dome. The installation is adjustable, so a different setup is possible. This dynamic light control via DMX is specific for the theatre world, where every production must be able to configure their lighting and sound. This enables them to create their own light concepts and scenes.

Compass provided CCTV, access control, automation and control, energy distribution systems, lighting, emergency lighting, domotics, DMX, energy, fire alarm systems, evacuation systems, security system and ICT/data networks.

STOWING REMOTELY CONTROLLED

Compass have designed and built a fibre network that allows the weirs at Driel, Amerongen and Hagestein to be operated from a central location. Remote operation of the dam provides smoother and safer shipping, as quick reactions can be made to high or low water events.

The biggest challenge was finding a route that was agreeable to the large number of stakeholders, including land owners, licensors and flora and fauna legislators. Compass made use of the knowledge and experience of similar routes which have involved many land owners. The project was delivered successfully within time and on budget.

FIBER NETWORK ROTTERDAM WORLD GATEWAY

Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG) ensures the most efficient storage and handling of containers. Compass has been working on the delivery of the fiber network within the RWG since 2013. Specifically, we are working on the fibre network for Maasvlakte 2. Maasvlakte 2 is a major project to turn around 2000 hectares of reclaimed land into a new port. On completion, Maasvlakte 2 will be capable of handling 2.35 million containers a year. We are proud to be ensuring that the fibre network is the very best.

COLORED PUBLIC LIGHTING STRIJP-S EINDHOVEN

Strijp-S (Eindhoven) is developing a unique environment in which living, working and recreation merge together in a 24/7-live environment. The public lighting is designed to improve the experience of the public and residents. The lighting is interactive and controllable in all RGB colours, and can not only improve safety and visibility, but is also aesthetically pleasing. For example, during the football world cup, the lighting was turned Orange in support of the NL team. This functionality helped the lighting concept to win the prestigious Auroralia Award.

Compass has taken the basic Strijp-S design and developed a feasible, functional, and affordable detailed design. We are proud to have installed the fibre network including 159 intelligent light poles which are connected and assembled. The project was completed within the budget and estimated time.

REASSIGNMENT SHELL A LAB AMSTERDAM

Our client CODUM develops neglected buildings within cities to provide space for entrepreneurs and startup companies. The focus of this project is the redevelopment of the Shell A Lab in Amsterdam. The A Lab now houses creative and new media companies under the motto; ‘Nurturing the brightest minds’. Compass has proven itself with this project as a result-oriented organization. We translated the open questions that the client provided into a high quality technical solution.

The starting point was a much-neglected property. In a four-month period, 4.000 m2 of floor area was made suitable for the needs of different companies. Spaces were reclassified, Workstations were completed. Cables, water pipes and other infrastructure has been designed, built, and tested. Compass worked with the client to deliver a high-quality project which remained on schedule and within budget.

CONSTRUCTION FIBRE ROUTE COENTUNNEL

The construction of the fibre route Coentunnel Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and technical installation. All fibre optic cables were assembled in the main buildings. In order to monitor all traffic movements within the area of the new Coentunnel, Compass installed a total of 97 cameras.

DIVERT FIBRE CABLES VOPAK

Compass has given the commission to all existing fibre optic cables in Substation to redirect to the new Vice Station.

By means of the blowing in of different Ø 10 mm HDPE tubes in existing and new HDPE pipes were both 9/125 SM and MM 62.5/125 mini fibre optic cables to the new OS blown. After completion of these glass fibres in the new OS, free work, were staged at the old new connections accepted.

The project provided in the finishing of various optical fibre patch cables which are necessary in order to let the bridge for loading  function.

INSTALLING CABLING GV DAN TYSK TP

In 2012 they started the construction of the wind farm Dan Tysk in the German economic zone in the North Sea. The wind farm will be located in the North Sea, approximately 70 kilometres west of the German island of Sylt . The wind farm will get 80 turbines. Compass was asked by the client to portion of the fiber optic cabling for these 80 Windmills namely to bring the Transition pieces (TP).
